Frymaster Participates In Trans Fat-Free Revolution Webcast

June 29th, 2007

Whether you have a plan to embrace trans-fat free (TFF) cooking oils or are still wondering exactly what all the fuss is about, Frymaster’s participation in QSR Magazine’s June, 28, 2007 Webcast Seminar: “Are You Ready for the Trans Fat Revolution?” helped look at one of the biggest waves to hit the restaurant industry in recent years.

It’s not easy being an operator today.  State and local governments are considering, and some are mandating, the removal of trans fats from foods while customers are demanding maximum taste in foods that are as healthful as possible.  Meeting both sets of expectations is a challenge.  Of interest, because they consistently deliver on flavor, fried foods are more popular than ever.  The challenge is making them more healthful--- but the good news is that it can be done.

The nation’s rapid transition to trans-fat free frying has created a huge interest in trans-fat free oils and manufactured foods.  Two questions on operators’ minds are:  (1) Will my customers like the taste? and (2) What will it cost me to transition to trans-fat free cooking?

Frymaster’s commitment to helping operators solve frying-related issues such as transitioning to trans-fat free cooking goes beyond their industry-leading equipment innovations focused to reduce operating expenses and extend oil life.   Linda Brugler, Senior Marketing Manager, was one of four participants in the QSR Trans Fat Revolution webcast, presenting new research using a trans-fat free (TFF), high oleic, low linolenic canola oil with Frymaster’s high efficiency E4 Series electric fryers. The results demonstrate that along with good oil station management, also covered in the webcast, the TFF study oil had a significant oil life and provided customers with the great taste they are looking for.
