Industry Leader Earns Top Energy Efficiency Rating, Also Promotes Fit Frying
SHREVEPORT, La. – Frymaster, LLC’s new Protector™ fryer is made of stainless steel, but its heart is green.
The Protector is an environmentally friendly fryer, offering green benefits that range from reduced oil waste to using less energy to operate than manual-fill 50 lb fryers. And it can even help operators meet customer demands for great-tasting, healthier foods by generating cost savings that can offset the higher cost of trans fat-free oils.
The 30-pound Protector offers the same production capacity as its 50-pound competitors, yet takes 40 percent less oil to fill – meaning less oil to dispose of. Savings are compounded by high-technology features that take the guesswork out of oil management, protecting oil quality and maximizing oil life to up to four weeks. …or more [The “or more” is inconsistent with the maximum of four weeks noted in all three of the other releases.]. Those features include automatic oil replenishment technology aptly named Oil AttendantTM, as well as Frymaster’s renowned, patented FootPrint PRO® filtration system and patented swing-up heating elements. When compared to manual-fill 50 lb fryers, Frymaster estimates that the Protector’s smaller frypot and auto fill features that maximize oil life can reduce oil use over 50 percent annually, thereby saving operators a significant amount in oil costs.
The Protector is also in an elite class of energy efficient fryers, having earned an industry’s top federal ENERGY STAR® rating of 85.6 percent energy efficiency.
“The Protector uses less oil and energy, yet offers the same frying capacity and produces the same high quality foods as frypots almost twice its size,” said Brenda Fried Humphreys, vice president of marketing for Frymaster, an Enodis plc company. “When you also consider its many labor-saving features, this fryer is an all-around smart buy—you can feel good about your choice since you can both help the environment and save money.”
The Protector reduces labor costs and safeguards workers by extending oil life to reduce the frequency of oil changes, and by automating time-consuming, messy and potentially dangerous tasks related to manually refilling the frypot.
Health-minded operators can leverage the oil and energy cost savings to underwrite the transition to healthier, yet higher-cost, trans fat-free oils, Humphreys also emphasized.
“The Protector is healthier for the environment, customers, workers and the bottom line,” said Humphreys, “of which we can all be proud.”
